Maria Bartolo Zahra

Maria Bartolo Zahra has over 15 years of experience in human resources.

She has worked on several areas related to HR Management including , transformation & strategic management, remuneration & reward, job evaluation, organisational design, employee engagement & retention, recruitment & selection and training & development. She has a particular interest in developing pay and career structures on the basis of job family models, the design of management incentives & executive pay, and performance management processes.

Maria is also a visiting lecturer at Middlesex University (Malta). She has been appointed Board Secretary to both private and non-governmental organisations and in 2009 was chosen by the US Embassy in Malta to participate in an International Visitor Leadership Program entitled ‘Business Development Issues for Women Business Leader.’

Maria holds a Masters in HR Management and Development (University of Leicester), a Post-Graduate Professional Diploma in Marketing (The Chartered Institute of Marketing) and a Certificate in Recruitment Practice. Due to her exposure to reward and remuneration, she completed her research and studies in Reward Management (Chartered Institute of Personnel Development). She is currently reading for a PGCert Higher Education.

Maria is the Managing Director & HR Advisor at SurgeAdvisory which she co-founded in 2017.
